Great information to help prepare for the ACT test, including practice tests, tips, and how the test connects to college planning.
PLAN Student site - www.planstudent.org
Sophomores will be taking the PLAN test this year--be prepared! Scoring well on the PLAN usually leads to scoring better on the ACT. The site offers tips and insight into what the test is and how to prepare for it. There is also a very interesting section on connecting your interests to possible careers, which is definitely worth checking out!

Excellent site with useful summaries and tutorials on a vast amount of topics, with many on math. Fantastic resource to review or to check if you are unclear on something.
Math Open Reference - www.mathopenref.com
A good supplement to our classwork, this site offers clear, visual examples of key concepts and ideas from class. A great site to go to for review.
WolframAlpha - www.wolframalpha.com
A computational knowledge engine--not a search engine! You can use it to aggregate data or crunch numbers. Of course, I use it to look at Cubs statistics.
Worldometers - www.worldometers.info
An interesting site that has all sorts of data on world statistics, updated as you watch.
Technology
Google @ CPS - google.cps.edu
Every CPS student now has a Google account. This is a great tool for communicating and working together with other students. If you haven't already, spend some time learning some of the cool stuff you can do with your account and the tools on Google Drive.
Microsoft Live - www.live.com
Microsoft now offers a free web-based version of Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Online storage space is also included. Create your documents for school, and never have to worry about losing flash drives again!
